Multi-Cloud Engineer (Azure, AWS and GCP)

ABOUT THE TRAINING

This course is a four weekend days intensive training on multi-cloud computing. It features multiple hands-on labs across the three main CSPs (Azure, AWS, and GCP) and it is designed equip your teams with the necessary skills to operate and manage services in a fast-paced multi-cloud environment.

As an increasing number of businesses move sensitive information and crucial operations to the cloud, they are not limiting themselves to a single cloud service provider (CSP). Studies indicate that up to 92% of organizations have a multi-cloud strategy. The growing number of cloud services, identities and permissions across multiple clouds adds to the complexity, expands the organization’s attack surface, making it challenging for security teams to implement consistent policies across cloud platforms. Majority of security professionals report feeling inadequately equipped to secure their organization’s multi-cloud environment and effectively respond to security breaches.

This training will equip your teams with the necessary skills to secure vital applications and services in a fast-paced multi-cloud environment. It features multiple hands-on labs across the three main CSPs (Azure, AWS, and GCP) to reinforce the material and help participants understand the real-world applications of the concepts they have learned.

NOTE: The public course is set for the weekends of March 23, 24, 30, and 31. We have scheduled sessions to accommodate both North American and EMEA time zones. Ensure you choose the appropriate time zone during booking.

SYLLABUS

HAND-ON-LABS INCLUDED - In this module, delegates will gain a foundational understanding of the three leading cloud service provider platforms: AWS, Azure, and GCP. We'll explore CSP market trends, global infrastructure footprint, cloud services, organizational structures, and management endpoints like API, console, CLI, and SDK. We will also discuss Infrastructure as Code (IaC) across the multi-cloud and a comparative analysis of the similarities and differences across these cloud platforms.

HANDS-ON LABS INCLUDED - In this module, we will discuss the complexities and best practices of multiple cloud account management. We'll tackle the challenges posed by shadow accounts and explore the best practices for tagging. Other topics that we will cover are: governance of cloud accounts, insights into cost management and optimization (FinOps) and working with service level agreements (SLAs). By the end of this module, delegates will be equipped with the tools and knowledge to effectively manage and govern multiple cloud accounts.

HANDS-ON LABS INCLUDED - In this module, delegates will embark on a journey through the world of cloud identity providers, with a focus on AWS IAM, Azure Active Directory (Now Entra), and GCP IAM. We will cover concepts such as authentication methods, hybrid identity, external identities, RBAC and conditional access. By the end of this module, delegates will have a strong understanding of scalable identity and access management across the three leading cloud platforms.

HANDS-ON LABS INCLUDED - In this module, we will cover key concepts around multi-cloud networking. We will discuss and compare the fundamentals of cloud virtual networking in the three leading CSPs in the following areas: cloud network connectivity, cloud network connectivity with peering, DNS management, Hybrid Connectivity with VPN and private WAN, Load balancing, Network Security, NAT Gateway, Private Connectivity to platform services.

HANDS-ON LABS INCLUDED - In this module, we will examine, compare and contrast the cloud compute landscape across AWS, Azure, and GCP. We will focus on VM image management and its automation, virtual server services, VM autoscaling, and associated disk storage options. We will also provide insights into managed application hosting services, including Elastic Beanstalk, Azure App Service, and Google App Engine. Attendees will learn about serverless compute frameworks like AWS Lambda, Azure Functions, and Google Cloud Functions, and we'll conclude with an overview of high-performance computing options. By the module's end, delegates will have a clear understanding of compute offerings across the three cloud providers.

HANDS-ON LABS INCLUDED - This module provides a deep dive into containerization options spanning AWS, Azure, and GCP. Participants will focus on building container images, as well as distributing them via platforms such as ECR, ACR, and Artifact Registry. Additionally, we'll explore services tailored for running single or orchestrated containerized applications, highlighting services like AWS Fargate, Azure Container Instances, Azure Container Apps, EKS, AKS, and GKE. By the end of the session, delegates will have a comprehensive grasp of containerization offerings across the major cloud platforms.

HANDS-ON LABS INCLUDED - In this module, we will explore the diverse storage and data services offered by the major cloud providers. We will compare and contrast object storage systems, file storage services, traditional and serverless relational databases, NoSQL platforms, and caching options. By the end of the module, attendees will have a comprehensive grasp of the range of data storage options available across major cloud providers.

HANDS-ON LABS INCLUDED - In this module, participants will navigate the essentials of logging and monitoring across top cloud platforms. We'll cover Cloud Log Sources, Monitoring and Alerting mechanisms, and Cloud Network flow logging. By the module's conclusion, attendees will be equipped with knowledge on effective logging and monitoring strategies in a multi-cloud environment.
